~Adam F. Aloise, a former general manager of the Parker House hotel, died of a brain hemorrhage Friday in Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He was 74.
A native of Boston, Mr. Aloise graduated from English High School in Boston and Notre Dame University.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a staff sergeant in the 82d Airborne Division, and participated in the Normandy invasion.
After the war, Mr. Aloise began his career at the Parker House as a bellboy, and worked his way up to become general manager.
From 1971 to 1994, Mr. Aloise also held the positions of vice president and mortgage officer for both the Haymarket Co-Operative Bank and Home Saving Mortgage.
In 1979, Mr. Aloise moved to Winthrop. In 1994, he started a real estate appraisal firm. He was a member of the Massachusetts Board of Real Estate Appraisers, and was a licensed real estate broker.
Mr. Aloise leaves his wife, Catherine J. (Verro); two daughters, Mary Diane Nigrelli and Pamela A. Boyd; two sons, David A. and John A.; a sister, Phyllis Bragg; a brother, Domenic J., and seven grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be said Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church in Winthrop. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
