FLORA ELLEN HIATT
---Flora Ellen Hiatt, daughter of Lewis and Mary E. Main, was born January 10, 1872 near Moravia, Iowa and died at her home in Atlanta, Missouri May 1, 1949 at the age of seventy-seven years, three months and twenty-one days.
---On April 2, 1890 she was united in marriage to W. O. Hiatt of Hiattsville, Iowa. To this union was born nine children, eight of whom, with the husband, survive. The children are: Artie Loumaster, Clara Corbin, Nena Hiatt, Harley W. Hiatt, of of near Atlanta, Missouri, Avis Arp of Brunswick, Missouri, Bernice Pangroe of Junction City, Kansas, Edie B. Hiatt of Kansas City, Missouri and Jaunita Keith of Bedford, Iowa; one daughter, Lois, died in 1911 at the age of nine years. She also leaves to mourn her passing, sixteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one brother, R. F. Main of Portland, Oregon and one sister, Mrs. Mary Haskinsons of Moravia, Iowa.
---Mr. and Mrs. Hiatt started their married life on a farm near Hiattsville, Iowa. In 1908 they moved to a farm eight miles northwest of Atlanta where they lived until October, 1945, when they moved to the present home in Atlanta.
---Mr. and Mrs. Hiatt celebrated their fifty-ninth anniversary of April 2 of this year.
---She was a member of the Christian Church at Moore's Chapel where she was a faithful attendant of both church and Sunday School services.
---Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 3, at 1:30 at the home, conducted by Rev. Carl Huff of La Plata. Pallbearers were grandsons and flower girls were granddaughters and great-grandchildren. Burial was at Steele cemetery under the direction of H. M. Goodding.
---Out of town relatives and friends here for the funeral services of Mrs. W. O. Hiatt, were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Arp, Donald and Jennie; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Mason and Donnie; Mrs. Cleta Elliott; Mrs. Jerry Gaseph; Mr. and Mrs. Rube Ringer; Mr. and Mrs. George Fry and Jerry of Brunswick, Missouri; Mrs. Perry Pangrae of Junction City, Kansas; Miss Edie B. Hiatt of Kansas City, Missouri; Mr. and Mrs. Max Keith of Bedford, Iowa; Mrs. J.M. Hiatt, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Phillips of Centerville, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Haslinson, Mrs. Birdie Main, Mr. Frank Main of Moravia, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Neal Main of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mrs. S. A. McCartie of Beacon, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. David Nickell, Norma and David Wayne, Miss Bille Jean Loumaster, Miss Clara Berneice Loumaster of Burlington, Iowa and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Main of La Plata, Missouri.
