Judith Dee Nelson Anderson Thorn
1940 - 2016

Early Life: Judy was born January 19, 1940, in Albany California, to Foster Nelson and Emma Myler Nelson. She was the first of three sisters. She grew up in California.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: While still in California, she met Willis Gary Anderson. They later married and had two sons, Donald G. Anderson and Mark W. Anderson. In 1963, the family suffered a tragic loss. Willis succumbed to cancer after a few short years of marriage. Not willing to just sit around, she wanted to get an education and decided to move to Utah with her two young sons to attend college. Shortly after arriving in Utah she met Eugene Whitney Thorn and fell in love again. They were soon married and two more sons entered the family, Brian Eugene Thorn and Steven Bruce Thorn. Then came another setback in the loss of a child, Jeffery Thorn, soon after birth. Not to be outdone, a little sister, Elizabeth Diane, soon came into the picture to give the boys a run for their money. Judy enjoyed gardening, bottling fruits and vegetables, as well as being outdoors. The family spent many days in the mountains fishing, hiking and hunting. Judy was eventually divorced from Eugene and decided to get an education. She was able to gain employment at IHC as a medical records worker where she stayed and eventually retired. She continued to love her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, giving each one her personal love and attention. Due to continuing health issues, Judith "Judy" Dee Nelson Anderson Thorn eventually succumbed to death to return to our Heavenly Father on June 16, 2016. She was 76.
