Mrs. Fergus, the mother of Tudor Fergus, a well-known music teacher in West Chester, died Saturday night from dropsy, aged about 79 years. Deceased was long a resident of this borough and was a consistent member of the Church of the Reformed Episcopal. She was a rare artist, naving acquired the taste in Prince Edward's Island (Place of nativity) years ago when quite young. Prominent among the results of her effort are a life-size figure of her deceased husband and a group of her children, all in plaster of Paris and quite life-like, which occupy positions in the Fergus home, on West Gay Street.

The funeral of Mrs. Maria H. Fergus took place yesterday from her late residence on the Strasburg Road, West Chester. Rev. William Newton, D.D. pastor of the Reformed Episcopal Church, delivered an impressive discourse. The pallbearers were William J. Beatty, I.F. Snyder, James H. Cudlipp and J. Newton Huston. Mrs. Fergus was a rare artist, having acquired the taste in Prince Edward's Island, the place of her nativity, years ago, when quite young. Prominent among the results of her efforts are a life-size figure of her deceased husband and a group of her children all in plaster of Paris, and quite lifelike, which occupy positions in the Fergus home, on West Chester.
