Leslie Hart Andelin, 81, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 at his daughter’s home in Pikeville, KY. Hart was born on July 29, 1934 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to L’ Etrenne Andelin and Ella May Brown.

He spent his youth in Idaho Falls. He played his cornet in the high school band, went ice skating, rode his motorized bike and drove the milk truck on the milk route. After high school, he attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a secondary teaching degree in Math. During this time, he served an LDS mission to California. He married Lois Elizabeth Chaplin on August 31, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple. He married Karen Lawrence in 2000.

Hart took a job teaching 8th grade Algebra in San Jose, CA. He moved his family there in 1960 and taught math for 26 years. He also had an income tax preparation business. Hart was an active member of the LDS church. He loved the scriptures and spent many hours studying them. He was able to enjoy serving in the church in many youth centered positions and his fun personality was enjoyed by many within his service.

Hart was an optimist. He looked for the good in everyone and everything. He loved music, movies, treats, car rides, The Lawrence Welk Show, football, basketball, and the BYU Cougars. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He always wanted to hear what was going on in each of their lives.

He is survived by his children: Richard (Amy) Andelin, Janice (Greg) Green and Thomas (Meesa) Andelin; 12 grandchildren; sibling, Sterling (Susan) Andelin and ex-wife, Karen Lawrence.

He is preceded in death by Lois Andelin their infant daughters Carrie Andelin and Nancy Andelin, parents, a brother Robert Andelin and sister Shirley Smith.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Spring Creek 5th Ward Chapel , 860 E. 2nd N. Springville, UT. A viewing will be held from 12:00 to 12:45 at the church prior to the funeral. Interment will be at the Provo Cemetery.
