Linda (Bell) Thornton, 75, of Fairhope AL, died June 11; Celebration of Life Tribute to be held on June 25 at 2 p.m. at 948 Boulevard Street in Shreveport LA

Fairhope, AL - Linda Marie Bryan (Bell) Thornton, age 75, passed away peacefully in Fairhope, Alabama, on Saturday, June 11, 2016 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

A celebration of life will be held to honor her memory on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 2pm-4pm at 948 Boulevard St. in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Linda was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on January 12, 1941 to Gael and Gladys (Bridwell) Bryan. She attended Fair Park High School and graduated in 1958. After many years as a homemaker, she began a career as a medical receptionist. Linda loved reading, gardening, and spending time with family and being outdoors. She spent much of her time as a devoted caregiver to family members. She will be lovingly remembered for her sense of humor, her cooking, her ‘sweet tooth’ and her faith. Her unconditional love, laughter and generosity will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Max Thornton of Shreveport. She is survived by her sons, Brent Bell of Florida, Brad Bell and daughter-in-law, Dondra Bell of Alabama; daughter, Brandi Bell Dearing of Alabama; sister, Shelia Bresch of Texas and brother, Mark Bryan and sister-in-law, Patti (Adley) Bryan of Shreveport; grandson, Noah Dearing and granddaughters, Abby and Avery Dearing all of Alabama; one niece and five nephews, many cousins and friends.

A special thank you to Montrose Bay Health and Rehab and Gentiva Hospice Care and all of those that loved and cared for Linda during her illness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home, 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL.
