Joseph Rainey passed away Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at home. He was 89.

Born in Philadelphia, he had been a resident of Southampton, Pa., since 1953.

Joe was employed at SPS in Glenside, and ITE Circuit Breakers in Colmar, Pa.

He was the beloved husband of the late Edith, for more than 61 years. During those years, they were rarely apart, they were "Together Forever" until the time of her death in 2007.

Mr. Rainey was a dedicated and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He also was known to love having little children, especially his family's babies, fill his home.

Memories of summer vacations he spent with his family in Wildwood, N.J., will always be remembered.

He was the father of Darlene Howard (David) of Abington, Dorie Sue Lutz of Chalfont, Cheryl Goodwin (Matthew) of Sellersville, Pa., Joseph W. (Patricia) of Huntingdon Valley, Pa., and the late Thomas Rainey (Margaret); grandfather of Christine, Joseph, Michael, Scott (Traci), Kristi, Bryan (Kristen), Heather, John, Eric (Nicole), Gregory (Anna), Brandon, Jarad, Chad, and Blake; great-grandfather of, Christian, Elijah, Courtney, Cierra, Morgan, Marin, Mason, Ava, Thomas and Jackson.

James J. Mc Ghee Funeral Home, Southampton. Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
