Age 77 died October 31, 2006 at home with her loving family by her side after a long battle with cancer. She was born February 3, 1929 in New Boston, MI to Joseph and Jennie (Jesenski) Oley. On February 15, 1947 she married Gaza "Gus" Balog in Monroe, MI and he survives. Viola was an active member of the Women of Moose Auxiliary in Milan, Marble Memorial United Methodist Church, the State Employee's Retirement Assoc. and the Priscilla Women's Circle. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, who will remember her as a strong and vibrant woman with a caring heart and hands. Survivors besides her husband Gus include a son Jeffrey of Venice, FL, daughter-in-law Donna Balog of Tecumseh, her precious grandchildren Joseph (Jen) Balog, Terri (Doug) Martelle, Jennifer (Scott) Turner, Jeania Balog (Matt), great grandchildren Spencer and Carson Martelle, Michael Turner, Grace Balog and Garrett (Tello), three brothers Joseph (Yvonne) Oley, Ray and Ben Oley all of Monroe and a sister Margret (Hedy) of Dundee. She was preceded in death by a son Joseph Balog, a sister Theresa and two brothers Richard and Jim.
