Nancy Jane Chadwell was daughter of the pioneer Chadwell family of Trenton Texas. On Oct. 10, 1875 she married Sam Houston Jones and raised a family with him in Trenton.

After the family was grown, they moved to nearby Leonard, Texas living in or near there until her passing.

Her Survivors include her husband Sam Houston Jones Sr., a daughter, Effie Jones Wright and her husband Tom, 3 sons, Bill Jones and Sam Houston "Huse" Jones Jr. of Leonard and John Jones of McKinney; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
