Brandt who died November 1948. Born in Jackson Township, PA, January 15, 1915, daughter of the late Paul Elmer and Elsie E. (Spitler) Houtz. She was employed at Durable Shoe Co., Myerstown, for many years. Prior to working at the shoe company, she was a cafeteria worker for seven years at Jackson Elementary School, Myerstown. She was a member of Zion "Goshert's" UCC, Mt. Zion. She is survived by daughters Darlene R., wife of Edmund Ludwig of Newmanstown, Loretta F., wife of Ralph Spangler of Myerstown; son Miles P., husband of Mary Brandt of Myerstown; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Beatrice Miller of Myerstown, Arlene, wife of George Vindich of Lebanon; brothers Paul, husband of Mildred Houtz of Myerstown, Clarence, husband of Ethel Houtz of GA; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by daughter Mildred Stella Brandt, sisters Viola Rittel and Madlyn Koons, and brothers Ammon Houtz and Roy Houtz. Funeral Thursday at Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown.
