Funeral services will be held for Mr. Kenneth Cornelius Elliott, Jr. on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 1:30 PM in the Hill Crest Funeral Home Chapel, 601 US-80, Haughton, LA 71037. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Hill Crest Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Carl Rhoads of First United Methodist Church in Shreveport will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.

Ken was born on June 29, 1933 in Mobile, Alabama to Kenneth and Louise Elliott. He attended Louisiana Tech University, received his B.S. Degree in Business Administration in 1955 and was a member of the La. Tech Rodeo Team as a calf roper. After graduation, Ken was commissioned a Second Lieutenant of the U.S. Air Force. He served on active duty with the Strategic Air Command Headquarters at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. Ken earned the rank of Captain prior to his discharge from the USAF Reserve. He then became a sales representative for Powerline Supply Co, Inc. In 1958 he purchased stock in Elliott Industries, Inc. and became President and General Manager in 1968. Under his guidance, Elliott Industries, Inc. has become a high quality manufacturer of medium voltage distribution products to utilities around the world.

In addition to his business activity, Ken was a member and past President of the Rotary Club of Bossier City, a Rotary Foundation Paul Harris Fellow, a member and past Director of the Bossier Chamber of Commerce, a member and past Director of the reater Bossier Economic Development Foundation, past Chairman of the Bossier Citizens' Advisory Council, past Vice-Chairman of the Bossier City Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board, a member of the La. Tech EE & EET Advisory Board, a life member of IEEE, a member of Martin McClanahan Lodge #384 F&AM, and a life member of the National Rifle Association. In 1973 Ken became a member of the Tejas Vaqueros and enjoyed participating in the annual week long trail ride in Hunt, TX for nearly twenty years.

Ken especially enjoyed spending time with his wife Karen.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Louise Miller Elliott and Kenneth C. Elliott, Sr. of Shreveport, LA. He is survived by his wife Karen O. Elliott; his daughter Ivy Y. Elliott-Jones, sons Kenneth C. Elliott, III and William C. Elliott, daughter Patricia Elliott Willcox, sister Peggy E. Sartin, brothers William "Bill" M. Elliott and Thomas H. Elliott, many grandchildren, and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the USO, P. O. Box 96860,Washington, DC 20077-7677.
