BOSSIER CITY, LA - Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Helen Cranford Elliott on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 1:00 PM in the Hill Crest Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Pat Day, Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Shreveport, LA will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.

Helen was full of love and life and her family was blessed to have her deep unconditional love. She lived with faith and belief in Jesus Christ as her Savior and passed her strong faith on to her family and friends.

Helen was born on July 31, 1933 in Columbia, Mississippi. She was an entertainer from early childhood, when she began playing the piano by ear and singing with perfect pitch. As a young girl, she played the piano and sang with her grandfather at church services in southern Mississippi. Throughout her high school years in Columbia, MS, she entertained at high school events, and made appearances on a television show in Jackson, MS.

She became a professional entertainer as Helen Regan in the 1960's at the Revana Restaurant in Bossier City, LA and at the Carnival Room in Shreveport, LA. During her 35-year professional career she also performed extensively in Baton Rouge and Houma, LA, Natchez and Hattiesburg, MS and at Pat O'Brien's in New Orleans, LA. She toured as the opening act for the Baldknobbers of Branson, MO and opened a show for Kenny Rogers and Dottie West in Shreveport, LA.

In recent years while traveling with her husband, she performed in Chicago, San Francisco and Taiwan. She also entertained at area nursing homes in Bossier City, LA.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Ezbiah Cranford and Eugenia Grace Fortenberry of Columbia, MS and her brothers, James Ralph Cranford, Sr. of Columbia, MS and Samuel Orren Cranford both of Cleveland, MS.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth C. Elliott, Jr.; her children, Helen Maureen Regan of Bossier City, LA; Sharon Dawn Regan of Golden, CO and her children, Adam William Thorne, Daniel Regan Thorne, and Rebekah Rachel Thorne; Maurice D. "Marty" Regan, Jr. of Shreveport, LA, his wife Kathryn Annette Miller Regan, and their daughter, Kelsey Suzanne Regan; Stephen Carl Regan of Houston, TX; her husband's children, Ivy Yvonne Elliott-Jones of Nashville, TN, her husband Brad Mason Elliott-Jones, and their children, Clover Yvonne Bodnar, Amber-Morning Bodnar, Athanas Solomon Martin, Jonas Seth Martin; Kenneth C. Elliott, III of Ormond Beach, FL; William Carl Elliott of Grand Prairie, TX, his wife Sonya Elliott; Patricia Louise Elliott Willcox of Bossier City, LA, her husband A. Paul Willcox and their children Robert Brandon Williams, Katherine Haley Willcox and Olivia Louise Willcox.
