UNION - Laura "Julia" Adams Sullivan, 75, of 709 Rice Ave. Ext., died March 30, 1997, in Oakmont Nursing Home after an extended illness.

A native of Norton, Va., she was the widow of J.W. "Jake" Sullivan and the daughter of the late Wayland Hoyt Adams Sr., and Fannie Vanderford Adams.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Union, where she was a member of JOY Sunday School Class, served as secretary and as coordinator for the pre-school Sunday School Department for 25 years. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired office manager with Jeter Stores-NAPA Auto Parts. She was honored as Employee of the Year in 1992 by the Union Rotary Club. She was a former chairman for the American Cancer Society Memorial Fund.

Surviving is one brother, Wayland H. "Sam" Adams Jr. of Union.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:15 a.m. today in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church of Union. Services will be held at 11:30 this morning in the First Baptist Church of Union, conducted by the Rev. Clayton Howerton . Burial will be in Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

The family is at the home of her brother, W.H. "Sam" Adams Jr., 406 Springdale Drive, Union.
