EDGAR - Carl J. Wenzel, 87, of route 1, Edgar, died Monday afternoon at the Marshfield Convalescent Center. Services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church in the town of Frankfort with the Rev. Louis Davidson officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery. Visitations may be made at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby after 1 p. m. Wednesday. Mr. Wenzel was born Aug. 24, 1885, in Merrill and came to the town of Frankfort at the age of seven. He was married on June 8, 1910, at Seymour, to the former Phoebe Armitage, who survives him. He had operated a farm until November of 1971, when he and his wife moved to the Marshfield Convalescent Center. In addition to his wife, those surviving him are two sons, Eldred Wenzel and Norman Wenzel, both of the town of Frankfort; a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Bielke, Milwaukee; a brother, Arthur Wendtland, Edgar; nine grandchildren; and three great -grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a brother and a sister. Mr. Wenzel served on the church board for many years.
