Brian Lee Butler, 47, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Brian was born in Yakima to Richard and Vinita Butler. He attended Stanton Elementary, Washington Junior High, Davis High School and YVCC. He owned and operated B&B Fencecraft and Construction for many years prior to becoming a Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Union Gap.

He was quick witted and sarcastic and his laugh was infectious. He was most at home when he was out fishing, but family meant everything to him. He was the most caring, generous person you could ever meet. He would give the shirt off his back to a stranger in need. He was an amazing father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He touched so many lives in his short time here and we all know he’s looking over each one of us now.

Brian is survived by his children, Brandy (Jaime) Shipley, Danielle (Josh) Redtfeldt and Kristopher (Shauna) Butler, grandchildren, Carmen, Noah, Abby, Grace and Hope, of Selah; his father, Richard Butler, brother, Rick (Mary) Butler, sisters Shawna (Kevin) Carrier and Trisha (Jaime) Cervantes, nephew, Colby and niece, Caitlin of Yakima; nephew, Michael Grigsby of San Antonio, Texas; and many friends and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vinita Butler.

A celebration of Brian’s life will be held at the Selah Civic Center located at 216 S. 1st Street in Selah, Washington on Monday, June 20th from 1:30 to 3:30 pm
