Louise Kennedy, age 78, passed from this life on December 1st, 2005 in Joplin, MO after a short illness.
Her health began to decline earlier this year. She fought bravely and with great dignity, after being diagnosed with cancer.
Louise was one of twelve children, born to late Charles and Clemie Nicolas Westhoff on October 17, 1927 in Greenbush, KS.
Louise will be greatly missed by all of her family, and by her many wonderful friends. Her children were blessed to be raised by such a strong, loving mother.
Louise was a homemaker and owned and operated Kennedy’s Beauty Nook by her house to help support her family.
Louise leaves behind five grieving children and their spouses, Clifford and Kathy Kennedy of Springfield, MO, Janet and Dennis Wiseman of Grove, OK, Judy Macy of Greenwood, MO, Michael and Patty Kennedy of Joplin, Adena Kennedy of Joplin; two sisters, Barb Born of St. Paul, KS, Theresa Koester of Joplin; twelve grandchildren, Robbin, Tina, Diane, Dana, Angie, Kristal, Alisha, Sarah, Shelby, Lauren, Suzanne, and Tim; seventeen great-grandchildren, Madisyn, Allisyn, Christian, Alexis, Mariah, Elizabeth, Kayleigh, Reid, Evan, Connor, Jackson, Olivia, Aidrian, Harley, Jessie, Avery and Madeline.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Sarah Westhoff, Johnny Westhoff, Ed Westhoff, Vess Westhoff, Bernard Westhoff, Otis Westhoff, Marie Hayden, Leonard Westhoff and Cecilia Mae Ohs and a much loved grandson Michael Wayne Wiseman.
The family hopes that friends and family will be able to attend her Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Joplin, MO at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 5th with Rev. Justin Monaghan, celebrant.
Burial will follow in Greenbush, KS with Earl Westhoff, Dave Koester, Gene Koester, Chris Koester, Eddie Hayden and Ron Hayden serving as pallbearers.
Recitation of the Rosary will be 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Parker Mortuary.
The family will be available to greet all friends following the Rosary at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to Greenbriar Nursing Home in care of Parker Mortuary.
