James "Jimmy" Fred Johnson, 66, of El Dorado, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at UAMS in Little Rock.

He was born Oct. 18, 1947, in Hope to Fred Leo and Odette Evans Johnson. He was a graduate of Hope High School and the Camden Police Academy. He worked for the Arkansas State Highway Police and later transferred to the Arkansas Parks Department. He managed the El Dorado branch of AP Supply Co. and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Texarkana.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; and brother, William "Bill" David Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Pierce Johnson of El Dorado; and one daughter, Kristi Cobb of Texarkana, Texas.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. today at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home of Hope.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Stan Parris officiating.

Donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 25420 Ginger Hill Circle, Little Rock, AR 72223.
