William David "Bill" Johnson, Sr. went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Bill was born November 30, 1944 in Hope, Arkansas to Fred L. Johnson and Odette Evans Johnson.

Bill was a 1962 graduate of Hope High School, attended National Park Community College and the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy. He was employed by the city police of Hope. Bill retired with the rank of sergeant from the Arkansas Highway Police. After retiring, he worked at Magic Springs and Teeter Motor Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Malvern.

He is survived by his wife, of 45 years, Linda Austin Johnson; son, William David Johnson, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Hot Springs; daughter, Rebecca Johnson of Malvern; granddaughter, Brooke DeMontmolin; great-grandson, Ethan Sheets; brother, Jimmy Johnson and his wife Susan of El Dorado; sister-in-law, Jane Struckman and husband Fred; and several nieces and nephews.

Regency Funeral Home, Malvern, AR in charge of arrangements.

Funeral Service will be at First Baptist Church with Reverend Tyler Thompson officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, in Hope, with Reverend Larry Byers officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. J.W. Smith, Physicians and Staff at Malvern Kidney Center and Members of the Arkansas Highway Police.
