Ira was the only son of William Francis Crisp and Melvira Hafford.

He came to Thomas, NM in 1910.

He married Minnie Alice Cardwell on July 5, 1903 in Chandler, Oklahoma. They had 12 children; a son died infancy.

He is survived by wife; 11 children: Leona Spore, Day Creek, OR; Eugene, Norman and Rosebud Bonjour, Amarillo, TX; Martha E. Wood and Kenneth, Albuquerque, NM; Abe, Hawthorne, CA; Loretta Hyatt, Fort Worth, TX; Lorene Rigsby, Bitburg, Germany; Wayne and Vincent, Clayton, NM.

Ira Nain Crisp is a Mayflower descendant through his mother's line. He is descended from Mayflower passengers: James Chilton, Mrs Chilton and daughter Mary Chilton, Thomas Rogers and Richard Warren.
