Lorrenne Crisp Rigsby, wife of Colonel Cecil H. Rigsby, died June 7, 2011 in San Antonio, Texas from complications of congestive heart failure and renal failure. Cecil and Lorrenne were married 63 years. Lorrenne gave birth to five wonderful children, including identical twin boys and three daughters. Her children were always thankful that she was a stay-at-home mom who looked after their needs while their father worked or deployed to places like Korea and Vietnam. Born Sybil Lorrenne Crisp in Clayton, New Mexico, she and her identical twin sister, Sylvia Lorretta Crisp, were the eighth and ninth of eleven children born to Ira Nain and Minnie Alice Crisp. During WWII Lorrenne and her sister served as secretaries to the managers of The Gulf Ordinance Plant in Dumas, Texas. In 1946 Lorrenne and Cecil met at the Kargl Aerial Survey Company in Midland, Texas where Cecil was Chief Pilot flying WWII surplus P-38s. Lorrenne and Cecil were married in Cecil's home town of Dallas, Texas Dec. 7, 1947. Cecil rejoined the Air Force where he and Lorrenne were stationed at March Field, CA; Langley AFB, VA; Shaw AFB, SC; Bitburg, Germany; Montgomery, AL; the Pentagon; Ramstein AFB, Germany, and Bergstrom AFB, Texas. They lived in Saudi Arabia for 4 years and retired in Austin, TX. Preceding her in death are her twin sons, Russell Clark Rigsby (infant) and Ensign Ronald Cecil Rigsby, U.S. Navy, Navigator. Surviving are her husband, Cecil H. Rigsby of San Antonio, TX; daughter Toni Rigsby and granddaughter Claire Rigsby of Atlanta, GA; daughter Lisa Rigsby of Austin, TX; daughter Lori Millner and grandsons Russell Wilson and Britt Little of Dallas, TX, and grandson Michael Meyer of Chicago, IL; her twin sister, Lorretta West, of Denver, CO; and her brother, Norman Crisp of Amarillo TX. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from twelve o'clock in the afternoon until two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 11th of June at Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin. A funeral service will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 11th of June at Cook Walden Funeral Home with Interment to follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, 2800 Hancock Dr. in Austin Texas, where Lorrenne will be buried beside her son, Ron Rigsby.
