He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Isabel Espinosa; and brother, Jimmy Apodaca. Art is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Cecilia “Lulu” Apodaca; children, Max Joey (Marveen) Apodaca and Tina Apodaca; grandchildren, Max Joey Apodaca Jr., Jonathan Sanchez, Desiree (Vince) Pena, Diego Apodaca, Vanessa (Jesse) Velasquez and Ricky DeHerrera; great-grand-children, Tre, Elijah, Vinessa, Shilynn; as well as numerous other great-grandchildren; former daughter-in-law, Debbie Apodaca-Nival; siblings, Max (Joy) Apodaca, Laura (Phil) Armijo and Lydia Apodaca; special nephew, Robert Griego; special nieces, Crystal Griego and Carol Armijo; special friends, Orlando Garcia and Lee Archuleta; special dog, Shelby; and numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Art served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was very proud of his service. He went on to retire from the CF&I with 25 years of service. He later started Victory Outreach Pueblo in the early 1980s. Art had a heart for the youth of Pueblo, he wanted to come to love the Lord, which is why he started the outreach. He also was an avid Denver Broncos and New York Yankees fan. The Apodaca family would like to thank Olga, Reina and the Centura Home Health Care staff for their extremely compassionate care for Art. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Romero Chapel. Military honors by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team, Marine Corps League and the Freedom Riders.
