Brenda Joyce (Cryer) Henson went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 30, 2016. She passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 67 years, six months and eight days. She was born November 22, 1948, in Madill, Oklahoma, to C. V. and Pauline (Peevey) Cryer. She moved with her family in 1952, to southwest Oklahoma. She lived in Tipton and attended Tipton schools and graduated with the Class of 1967, from Tipton High School. She was united in marriage to Thomas Earl “Tommy” Henson on July 30, 1968, at Vernon, Texas. They made their home in Tipton until 1982, when they moved to Irving, Texas. She was in Irving, Texas, for almost 30 years, until returning in April of 2012, back to Tipton. In October of 2015, they moved to Frederick. Brenda worked most of her life as a child care giver for day care centers. At the time of her death, she worked for the Community Action Development Corporation (CADC) Day Care. She loved “her kids” and touched many hearts. She loved cooking, sewing and planting flowers. She was a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God, in Frederick.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son: U.S. Navy Seaman Travis Christen “Chris” Henson; three brothers: Wayland Cryer, Bobby Cryer and Gerald Cryer; one sister: Janis Vanantwerp; three brothers-in-law: Alvie Romines, Bobby Henson and Wayne Henson; and one sister-in-law: Wanda Henson.

Survivors include her husband: Tommy Henson, of the home in Frederick, Oklahoma; two sons: Thomas “Clint” Henson and Thomas “Craig” Henson, both of Dallas, Texas; daughter-in-law: Karen Henson, of Frisco, Texas; two sisters: Doris Romines, of Tipton, Oklahoma, and Reba Sheffield and husband Donnie, of Frederick, Oklahoma; a sister-in-law: Barbara Cryer, of Electra, Texas; a brother-in-law: Johnny Johnson, of Inola, Oklahoma; and three grandchildren: Thomas “Cooper” Henson, Makenna Elizabeth Henson and Owen Rushing Henson.
