On April 06, 1862 at 18 years of age, Antoine Arnaud joined the Confederate forces of Louisiana to fight in the Civil War along with some other Arnauds( including Jacques Francois and his 2 sons, Aurel and Jacques). Four years after the war at 25 years of age he married 19 year old Odeide Robin, great-granddaughter of Dr. Francois Robin. Records indicate Antoine Arnaud Pvt. Co. K, 28th La. Infantry, enlisted on April 06, 1862, Camp Moore, Louisiana. Present on all rolls to October 1862. He was captured at Bayou Tech, La. January 15, 1863. He was paroled by General Weitzel. Captured and paroled Vicksburg, Mississippi, July 04, 1863. On rolls of Prisoners of War. Paroled Washington, Louisiana, June 19, 1865.
