Maxine Holmes, of Pauls Valley, passed away June 2, 2016 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years.

Maxine was born February 15, 1930 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to John and Martha LeeAnn (Smith) Duke.

In 1963 she made Pauls Valley her home. In 1987, she and Bobby R. Holmes were married in Las Vegas, Nevada. Maxine worked as a Trainer and and R.S.L.A. at the Pauls Valley State School, which later became known as the Southern Oklahoma Resource Center. Upon her retirement she had served there for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Martha LeeAnn (Smith) Duke; husband, Calvin Hunt; sons, Gerald Johnny Hunt and Roger Calvin Hunt; and a grandson, Chase Hunt.

The family requests that memorials be sent in her name to the American Cancer Association. Envelopes are available at the Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

Surviving family include her husband, Bobby R. Holmes of the home; daughter in law, Gina Hunt of Pauls Valley; grandchildren, Jessica Hunt and Shelby Hunt and his wife, Gwen; great grandchildren, Slayden Chase Hunt and Tavey Leigh Hunt; her brother, Johnny Duke and is wife, Nancy, of Simi, California; and many special brother and sisters in law, as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 6, 2016 at 10:30 am at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Jim Dehart. Interment will be at Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
