Mrs. Irene Dearing Barksdale age 98 of Colt, Arkansas went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 6, 2015 in Wynne, Arkansas.
Mrs. Barksdale was born August 25, 1917 in Wynne and was a member of the Colt Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of William Miller Dearing and Charlie Nichols Dearing. Mrs. Barksdale married John Barksdale on February 17, 1934.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Barksdale, son Kenneth; brothers John, Calvin, Odell and Charlie Miller, daughter Joann Peterson, grandson Larry Lawson and great-granddaughter Jodi Lawson.
She is survived by a daughter Dorothy Lawson and husband Billy of Colt, two granddaughters Sharon Graham and husband Garry of Cherry Valley, Beverly Devazier and husband Brad of Forrest City, and a grandson Jimmy Peterson and wife Jerri of Forrest City, 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren also survive her.
Visitation will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Friday, October 9, 2015 from 4-5pm and a graveside service immediately following at Forrest Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Colt Baptist Church or the Landmark Baptist Church. Visit online registry at stevensfuneralhome.net
