Mr. T.R. McGuire, age 88 of Bartlett, Tenn. and formerly of Forrest City, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008 in Memphis. Mr. McGuire was born Oct. 9, 1919, in Centerville, Ala., the son of Eric McGuire and Martha Thompson. He was president of the Federal Intermediate Credit Bank of St. Louis, Mo. for 25 years, a graduate of Auburn University, and a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Marine Corps. He was also an optometrist, and a member of the Gideons, Lions Club and the First Baptist Church of Forrest City. Mr. McGuire married Dorothy Imogene "Gene" Beazley in 1948 and she survives him along with two sons, Gary McGuire of Bartlett, Tenn. and Tim McGuire of Missouri; one brother, Gene McGuire of Blytheville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held graveside at on Sunday, July 5, 2008, at Forrest Park Cemetery at 2 p.m. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.Published: 2008-07-03 Forrest City Times Herald
