Frenchie was born and raised up with 13 brother and sisters in Silsbee, Texas. His mother was named Cynthia Yawn and his fathers name was Charlie Lewis Gore known as Bud Gore. Bud Gore, Frenchie's father died at a young age of cancer. Frenchie lived with his mother until she died of a stroke about 1942. Frenchie went into the Army after his mothers death. Frenchie was still in the Army when he married Verna. He did mostly farm work growing up. He met Verna while in the service at Fort Crockett in Galveston, Texas. He was an MP. He was in charge of guarding Japanese and German prisoners of war in Galveston. He was discharged from the service and moved back to Silsbee, Texas. He worked at a sawmill for about two years making about $20.00 a week. He walked from the house over to the main highway to catch a ride. They laid board roads for oil field work. His next job was working with Pop Lacy out of Houston. Pop Lacy got him a job with Sinclair Oil and Gas surveying. He was head chain man. He worked until he got laid off. He did various jobs for Daryl Shine after being laid off. He marked timber for him showing which ones were choice and those that were not. He worked at Evans Products after this job making particle boards as a saw operator. A stack of pressed wood fell on his leg and just about amputated it. He was in rehab for over a year. They retired him after this happened to him. He worked with Joe Salvage surveying land for building houses for about two years. He was a person who liked to cook. He was a person who loved his children, grandchildren. He was a quiet person and said few words but every one who knew him liked him. He died of a heart attack after suffering a stroke. He died on a Sunday morning at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. His son Leroy said when he died there was the most beautiful sunrise he had ever seen as Frenchie slipped away. All of his children and wife were present when he passed away on November 22, 1992. He was put to rest at Rest Haven Cemetery in Silsbee, Texas on November 24, 1994.
