Mildred H. Martinson, 73, of Sycamore, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997, at the DeKalb County Nursing Home, with her family at her bedside.

She was born April 1, 1924, in Stoughton, Wis., the daughter of Hans and Mabel (Gallaback) Dahl. She married Calmer M. Martinson in 1944 in Stoughton She worked at Anaconda Wire and Cable Co., in the died department for 32 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Genoa.

She is survived by her husband, Cal, of Sycamore; two daughters, Sandra (George) Bland of Rockford, and Diana (Jim) Mears of Esmond; one son, Richard Martinson of Irvine,Calif.; four grandchildren: Michelle (Nick) Grimm, Bradley (Shannon) Bland, Chad Daniels and Stephanie Daniels; four great-grandchildren: Brent Grimm, Andrew Bland, Nicholas Rubeck and Zachary Ross.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Delmer Dahl; and one sister, Lila Larson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 12, 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Genoa, with Pastor Harold Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 11, 5-8 p.m., at Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home, 1245 Somonauk St., Sycamore.

A memorial fund is established in care of the funeral home.
