He was a son of Michael Wall and Margaret Donohue.

Patrick Wall came to the United States when he was eight years old. He settled in Ithaca in 1866. He was the owner of a successful shoe store.

Mr. Wall was first married to Nora Brennan Doyle. She died December 28, 1907. Secondly, he was married to Ellen Leary, in 1910.

Surviving family members are his wife Ellen Leary Wall; daughters, Mrs. William (Eleanor) Lydle and Mrs. Hugh (Mary) Troy; son, Francis Wall, of Buffalo.

The funeral of Patrick Wall, pioneer merchant, and for half a century prominent in Ithaca's business life, who died at his home, 42S East Seneca street, yesterday afternoon, will be held from the residence at 7:30 o'clock tomorrow morning and at 8 o'clock from the Immaculate Conception church. The remains will be placed in the family vault in Calvary cemetery.

Born in Ireland in 1843, Mr. Wall came to America at the age of eight years, his parents settling in Binghamton, where he received his early education.

He came to Ithaca and engaged in the shoe industry in 1866 and moved to his Aurora street store in 1873, where he conducted his business up to the time of his recent retirement. Mr. Wall was not only the leading spirit in Aurora street commerce, but took an active and prominent part in all civic activities.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ellen Leary Wall, and two daughters, Mrs. H. C. Troy of Ithaca and Mrs. W. S. Lydle of East Aurora; and one son, Francis P. Wall of New York city. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception church of this city.

The funeral of Patrick Wall was held from the residence, 426 East Seneca street at 7:30 o'clock this morning and at 8 o'clock from the Immaculate Conception Church. Rev. E.J. Esser of Trumansburg, celebrated the requiem High Mass. The funeral was largely attended and there was a profusion of floral tributes.

The remains were placed in the Wall family vault in Calvary cemetery, with Rev. Mr. Esser conducting the services. The bearers were Dr. James Fahey, William Troy, John Troy, M.J. Carrigg of Owego, M.L. Doyle of Pittson, Pa., and William Troy of this city.

Among those from out-of-town who attended the obsequies were M.J. Carrigg, Miss Anna Carrigg and Miss Mary Carrigg of Owego; Mrs. M. Noonan, Florence Wall, Miss Elizabeth Wall, Miss Gertrude Wall, Michael Larkin and Edward Larkin of Elmira; Joseph Crowe, Miss Helen Crowe and Miss Mary Crowe of Binghamton, Mrs. Helen Durett of Buffalo and M.L. Doyle of Pittston, Pa.
