Benjamin Forrest "Slug" Miller, 79, of Peoria died Sunday, April 23, 1995, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

Born June 29, 1915, in Dexter, Mo., to Benjamin and Arminta Asa Miller, he married J. Serena Hendrickson on April 4, 1937, in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Tom (Rebecca) Page and Mrs. John (Gloria) Burke, both of Washington, and Mrs. Boyd (Barbara) Neaveill of Kansas City, Mo.; four sisters, Mrs. Bill (Hazel) Hampton of Hanna City, Ollie Copeland of Granite City, and Edna VanWinkle and Zula Adams, both of St. Louis; and one brother, Rex E. of Normal. Four brothers, two stepsisters and one grandson preceded him in death.

He was a body shop foreman for several area companies, last working at S&K Chevrolet. He retired in 1980. He attended Golden Acres Church of the Nazarene in Peoria, and was a member of First Church of God in Peoria, where he taught Sunday school for 15 years.

Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
