Mrs. Mary Karkow, 78, died Saturday at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Joseph Hastreiter of Manitowoc Rapids, following a lingering
illness.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Pfeffer
Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. at the St. Paul Catholic Church, the Rev.
Martin Jaekels officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemtery in
Mishicot.
Mrs. Karkow, nee Mary Thomas, was born in Two Creeks in 1868. She
was married to Lorenz Karkow in 1898 and after living on a farm in
Two Creeks, moved to Manitowoc 39 years ago. Mr. Karkow died in
1938.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Hastreiter, of Manitowoc
Rapids; two sons, Roy and Walter of Manitowoc; five grandchildren
and one great-grandchild.
The body may be viewed at the Pfeffer Funeral Home where the rosary
will be recited at 7 o’clock this evening.
