RUPERT – Connie Sue Carter, 53, of Rupert, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at her childhood home.

Connie was born Aug. 22, 1962, to Joel Devon and Shirlene Belle Lawrence Carter, in Bakersfield, Calif. She attended Pershing Elementary, East Minico Jr. High School, and graduated from Minidoka County High School (Minico). She then attended Tongue Point Job Corp., where she obtained her CNA certification.

Connie was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Rupert, and had a profound faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She worked as a CNA and was also a ward clerk previously being employed by Burley Care Center and Crestwood Care Center in Bakersfield, Calif. Connie was very loving and passionate about the care she gave to those she served and found much joy and fulfillment at the end of each work day.

Connie loved spending time with her family and friends, she also enjoyed reading, bingo and motorcycles.

Connie is survived by her three daughters, Jolene Gypsy Helen May Carter of Charlotte, NC, Cheyanna Fancy Kay Ruth Carter of Killeen, Texas, and Jessy Amy Laverta Faye Carter of Rupert; one grandson, Keontae Devon Lee Calvin Shepard of Killen, Texas; one sister, Kay A. Holmes of Rupert; one nephew, Cody James Holmes of Yakima, Wash.; one niece, Shantell Shalone (James) Perotto of Rupert; and great-nieces and nephews, Zaryhia, Wyatt, Paetyn, and Gabryel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and both of her paternal; and maternal grandparents.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 17, at the First Assembly of God Church, 402 H. street in Rupert, with Pastor Dan Hendricks officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial account has been set-up at First Federal Bank.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Rasmussen Funeral Home of Burley.
