Arthur M. Allen was the son of Thomas and Mahalia Allen and was born near Lone Star, Gentry County Missouri, in the year of 1884, and departed this life near Martinsville, Oct. 2, 1930, at the age of 46 years, 4 months and 2 days.

He was united in marriage to Lizze A. Noble, Aug. 28, 1902. To this union six children were born Maggie Hulet, Tarkio, MO'; Raymond Allen, Bethany, MO; Garland, Floyd and Melvin, who reside at home, and Opal Blake of Lamoni, IA. He also leaves three brothers and three sisters; Aran M. Allen, Utica, MO; Harley R. Allen, Virgil S. Allen and Mrs. Lydia Snead all of Albany, and Mrs. Sarah Jane Snead of Martinsville, Mo., and Maggie Noble of Tarkio, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Allen, one brother and two sisters, Olive B. Rookstool and Cora M. Wilson.

He was united with the Baptist church at Lone Star at the age of sixteen years and ten years ago he placed his membership with the Mt. Olive church where he served as an elder of this church, a faithful and helpful member. The community will sadly miss this good citizen. The funeral was conducted by a cousin of the deceased, Rev. Bloomfield, at the Christian church in Martinsville and burial was in the Kidwell cemetery.
