He was the husband of Jane E. (Matterness) Reichard, to whom he was married 64 years on February 2nd.
Born in Lebanon on July 8, 1933, he was the son of the late Martin Luther and Anna (Smith) Reichard.
A 1951 graduate of Lebanon High School, Ronald served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was employed at Quaker Alloy Casting Co., Myerstown, for 44 years until retirement.
He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Myerstown, where he faithfully served as sexton for 49 years.
Ronald was a life member of Myerstown VFW Post 6076, loved model railroading, and enjoyed collecting soda cans, gardening, and crewelwork stitchery.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Elizabeth "Libby," wife of Dan McGuire, of Sinking Spring, Sandra, wife of Charles Botts, of Marysville; sons, Paul, husband of Patricia Reichard, of Lebanon, David R. Reichard, of Pine Grove, Timothy A., husband of Kristi Reichard, of Myerstown; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Clarence Reichard, of Lebanon, Donald, husband of Bonita Reichard, of Myerstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 7 sisters and 3 brothers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church, Myerstown. Viewing Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be at the Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Myerstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the "Scholarship Fund" of Zion United Methodist Church, 22 E. Main Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067.
