Peggy Juanita McKinney, 74, of Tulsa, passed away on Sunday, June 5th, 2016 in Pryor, Oklahoma. She was born on June 15, 1941 in Pryor; the daughter of Charles and Virgie (Lowery) Thomas.

She was married to Jerry McKinney on May 14, 1973 in Miami, Ok.

Peggy worked as a homemaker most of her life, enjoying the time she was able to spend raising her children and tending to the house.

She was a member of Southeast Baptist Church in Tulsa, OK. Her church family brought a great amount of joy to her life and she enjoyed attending services and church events.

She loved her family gatherings and the outdoors; she would tend to her flowers, fruit trees and vegetables in her garden.

She also enjoyed fishing and hanging out with her precious dogs. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry McKinney of the home; daughter, Donna Jones of Grove, Oklahoma; stepdaughters, Gina Smith and husband Kenny of Pryor, Oklahoma, Rebecca Wilsie of Pryor, Oklahoma and Stacy McKinney of Pryor, Oklahoma; brothers, John Thomas and wife Mary of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jack Thomas and wife Peggy of Glenpool, Oklahoma, and Jerry Thomas and wife Maria of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sisters, Linda Fisher and husband Bill of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Vickie Woronko of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; 1 grandson, Jeremiah Jones; 7 step – grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, Kourtney Jones and Noah Jones; 9 step great grandchildren; mother in law, Louise McKinney of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; sister in law, Shirley Brannon of Gans, Oklahoma; brother in law, Leva McKinney of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Virgie Thomas, stepdaughter, Tonya McKinney and sister, Shirley Cummings.

Funeral services ~ Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in the Southeast Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma with Reverend Ival Robinson and Reverend Bill Bender officiating. Burial followed in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Jerry Dixon, Mike Braswell, Rick Disney, Fred Dobbs, Ralph Moore, and Jim Williams serving as casket bearers. Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman’s Funeral & Cremation Service.
