Kaye McWilliams Moore

Kaye Arlene Moore, 67, went to be with our Lord and Savior on the 29th of August 2014.

She was born on February 21, 1947 in Abilene, Texas, the daughter of Arch and Lena McWilliams of Trent, Texas. She was the youngest of three and attended Trent I.S.D. from K-12. She was in a graduating class of 13 and was involved in many high school activities, including the two-time state championship basketball team. She was a twirler, a band member and a UIL one-act play participant.

She graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a grade point average of 3.77 and ran her own advertising agency for many years before beginning her career with the State of Texas in the CHIP/THHS department.

She lived all over the state, but moved to Lakeway, Texas in 2005 to be near her son's family and grandchildren. She enjoyed living in Lakeway, but considered Trent her home.

She loved music of all kinds, the arts, singing, politics, playing dominos and watching old movies. She especially delighted in cooking and trying new recipes for the people she loved. She had a strong and independent spirit, but was also loving and softhearted.

She rarely missed her children's or grandchildren's games or performances. Most importantly, she loved Jesus and was a life-long member of the Church of Christ in every city she lived.

She is survived by two sons, Todd Moore and wife, Shauna of Lakeway and Josh Moore of Austin; two grandchildren whom she adored, Lindsey and Bennett Moore, both of Lakeway.

A memorial will take place on Sunday, September 7th during the 10 am service at the Lake Travis Church of Christ in Lakeway. Services will be held in her hometown of Trent on Monday, September 8th at 11:00 am at the Trent Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, send donations to the Lake Travis Crisis Ministry (107 RR 620 S, Lakeway, TX 78734) to help families in her community.
