George was a shoe maker,a laborer, and a butcher.
After his wife's early death at age 36, for the 1870 census he resides with wife's relatives, the widow Eliza C Piper & her son, David. That census is the only mention of daughter E Mabel. Daughter Ida Frances has gone to California with uncle Barnabas Webb (at age 15!) and starts her own life there.
George removes to Warren where he is boarding with various individuals. In 1900 & 1910, he resided in Warren with Lewis Studley.
He died between 1910 & 1920. The Town Office of Warren searched for any death record in Warren & none can be found. Neither has one been found in the Maine State Archives.
He is buried with his wife and two children.
