LaVonne J. (Bonnie) Johnson
Bonnie was born on July 16, 1930, in Sauk Centre to Avery and Esther (Koskella) Nortan[sic].
She graduated from high school in Sauk Centre and still had cherished friendships with her classmates.
Bonnie married Charles H. Johnson Aug. 20. 1949. Bonnie and Charles lived an adventurous life that included lots of outdoor activities like hunting and fishing. Bonnie shot two deer, five days before her daughter was born.
She was strong woman and would tackle any work that needed to be done. She helped her husband with their refrigeration and electrical business for many years.
Bonnie especially cherished all her friendships. She made friends wherever she went, even in her later years, Bonnie had a very active social life. She enjoyed going to casinos, playing bingo, started bowling (at age 79) and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She will be remembered as a beautiful woman (both inside and out) and as a loving mum and "Big Grandma."
Bonnie had a Celebration of Life party, March 18, 2012. She'd want to thank all her friends and relatives for making this last party so special. Bonnie is survived by her brother Jim Norton; 2 children; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Bonnie died at home on April 2, 2012, surrounded by family. She donated her body to the Anatomy Bequest Program at the University of Minnesota. Per her wishes, there will not be a funeral.
