John E. Szakacs, 70 of 4423 Northcote Ave., East Chicago, an employee of the East Chicago Street Department for the past 12 years and a resident of the community for 53 years. died today in St. Catherine Hospital. Services are being completed by the Virgil Huber Funeral Home, 7051 Kennedy Ave., Hammond Mr. Szakacs is survived by his widow , Rose; a son John S. of Hammond; four daughters, Mrs. Ethel Kolbas, Mrs. Pearl Kish, Miss Roseann Szakacs, all of East Chicago, and Mrs. Loretta Allen of Calument City; eight grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
