"Harve" married Nancy Jane Shirley on Jan. 24, 1867. Of this union was born eight children: Martha, James, Ida Ellen, John W. (my grandfather), Mary J., William Benjamin "Ben", Rufus, and Nancy. Names of the two who died as infants are unknown. "Harve" was always doing good deeds to help his fellow man. He was a typical Ozark Mtn. pioneer."Harve" served in the Confederate Army from 1881 through 1865. He was presented a certificate by the Gov. of Ark. as an honorary commissioner for the Louisana Purchase Exposition of 1903. He and his beloved wife, Nancy, lie side by side.
