ST. GEORGE, Utah-- Edward R. "Ted" Bywater, age 79, passed away February 25, 1994 in St. George.

He was born September 8, 1914 in Salt Lake City to Edward R. and Anne Bywater. He married Dorothy A. Miller October 2, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Mr. Bywater attended East High School and the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where he was affililated with Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He and his brothers, William and Richard, owned and operated Bostitch Intermountain Company of which he was president. He retired in 1979 at which time he and Dorothy moved to St. George, Utah, where they thoroughly enjoyed his retirement years. He was especially fond of golf and fishing. He belonged to the Fort Douglas Hidden Valley Country Club in Salt Lake City and to the Bloomington Country Club in St. George, where he served on the Board of Directors. He was an active member of the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in St. George and was a tenor in the church choir.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of St. George; son, Timothy and his wife Kathleen Bywater, of St. George; brother, Richard Bywater, three grandchildren, David, Stephen and Robyn. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bonnie Anne, granddaughter, Anne Kathleen and brother, William.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, March 1, 1994, 1:30 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 611 North 2450 East, St. George, Utah.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 2, 1994, 12 noon at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South in Salt Lake City, Utah, under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice are suggested.
