SKOWHEGAN - Charlotte O. (Phillips) Spencer, 72, passed away peacefully Monday morning, May 30, 2016, at home surrounded by her family. She was born Sept. 14, 1942, in Pennsylvania, the daughter of William D. and Ruth E. (Hall) Phillips.

On Sept. 4, 1976, she married the love of her life, Paul Spencer, in Shawmut; they were happily married for 40 years. She was a devoted wife and mother, who raised her own children as well as being a self employed day care provider. She spent much of her working life providing a much needed service to families by taking care of their children. She loved painting, sitting around the table having coffee and visiting family and friends. Charlotte loved gardening and taking care of her plants. She was also known for being an amazing, creative cook and prepared food that no one can replicate.

She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Paul Spencer of Skowhegan; two sons, Harold Jay Johnson and partner Lisa of Skowhegan, Rick Pease and wife Laurie of Skowhegan, two daughters, Celena Breach and husband Charlie of Seattle, Wash., Robin Prescott and partner Christopher of Canaan; extended family, Sarah and husband Steve, Paul E. Spencer Jr. and wife Michelle; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at East Cemetery, Oak Pond Road, Skowhegan with Reverend Bill Meyer officiating. Arrangements under the care and direction of Dan & Scott's Cremation & Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Road, Skowhegan, ME 04976.
