Dorothy Boyer, 87 of Abilene died Thursday, March 28, 2002. Services will be at 1 PM Saturday, March 30, 2002 at Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery, directed by North's Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 PM Friday at the funeral home, 242 Orange.

Mrs. Boyer was born and reared in Stamford, TX. She married Henry Clay Boyer in 1939 in Abilene. He died in 1962. She moved to Abilene in 1935. She worked for Jack Duncan Plumbing for 10 years. She worked for Thunderbird Lodge for eight years and was a telephone operator for Hendrick Medical Center for 10 years. She was a 50-year member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brother and four sisters.

Survivors include her son, Duncan Boyer of Abilene; and one stepdaughter, Cleo Meek of Fort Pierce, FL.
