Early Life: Fred was born August 24, 1939, in American Fork, Utah, to Jack and Ida Frederick Newman. He grew up in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1957 and then spent a year at Brigham Young University.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Following high school, Fred enlisted in the United States Army and served seven years in the Army Reserve Unit. Fred married Bonnie Robertson on May 22, 1959, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was committed to his family and took great joy in spending time with his brothers, sisters, children and grandchildren. He loved hiking, hunting, fishing and racing pigeons. Fred B. Newman, of Pleasant Grove, Utah, peacefully passed away on May 27, 2016. He was 76.
Survived By: His wife, Bonnie; sons: Kenneth (Tink) Newman and Klinton Newman; daughters: Debi (Lyle) Holmstead and Michelle (Darrin) Cook; brothers: Rex Newman, Jay Newman and Don Newman; a sister, Marsha Nelson; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: His parents; brothers: Darrell, Paul and Raymond Newman; and a sister, Ida Beth Hansen.
