She was born in Spokane, WA on December 8, 1929. She spent her youth in St. Maries, ID, but most of her life in Husum.
Wayne and Marie were married in Washougal, WA on January 12, 1956. This year they celebrated their 60th anniversary.
Marie was a highly respected teacher for Headstart for 35 years. She will always be remembered for her generosity and leadership in the community.
For over 50 years, Marie helped family and friends through her faith and devotion to the Lord and the Husum Church. Her passion was playing cards with anyone and everyone. She enjoyed making quilts, cooking, canning and she loved to travel. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.
Marie is survived by her husband Wayne Barton. Also, her children Fred Loucks of Soap Lake, WA, Byron Loucks of Stillwater, OK, Coy Barton of Husum, K.C. Barton of Husum; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by daughter Rae Rhodes in 2012.
The celebration of life will be held at the Community Church of God in Husum commencing at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016.
