Shelley Myers Taylor, 37, a lifelong resident of the Ripley Community and a person known for her love of art and music departed this life Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis following a brief illness. A service honoring the life of Shelley will be at 3 PM Tuesday, May 31 at the West Ripley Baptist Church where she was a member with burial in the Ripley Cemetery. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home. She was a graduate of the Ripley High School and will be remembered as a devoted mother who loved her children, swimming and fishing. Visitation will continue Tuesday, May 31 at the church from 12 noon until service time. Shelley is survived by her husband, Everett Taylor; her sons, Everett Taylor, Jr. and Ethan Taylor; her parents, Sissy Meeks Garrison (Hollis) and Ross Davey Myers (Glenda); her sisters, Jade Garrison all of Ripley and Renae Garrison Koon (Steve) of New Albany; her brother, Matt Garrison; and her grandmother, Lawanda Meeks both of Ripley. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leroy Meeks, Ross D. and Wilda (Billy) Myers and Joe and Verdie Garrison.
