Mrs. Elsie W. Weirup
Mrs. Elsie W. Weirup, 85, of Maquoketa, died Sunday in Crestridge Nursing Home, Maquoketa.
Graveside servises will be at 10:30 am Tuesday in Buckhorn Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, with the Rev. Gerald Gjerde of First Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Monday in Carson Funeral HOme, Maquoketa.
She was born Nov. 18, 1898, in Clinton County to Carl and Elena Jensen Weede. She was married to Peter Weirup Jan 28, 1920, in Maquoketa. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Maquoketa and the church circle, VFW Auxilliary and the Jackson County Public Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Helma) Heeren of Onslow, Iowa; a son, Arnold (Lois) of Maquoketa; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter (Arvilla), four sisters and two brothers.
The date of death was May 13, 1984.
