Desire was born in Montgoemery county Indiana, near Waaynetown. When she five years of age her parents moved to Rossville, IL, where on 17 Feb 1869 she was united in marriage with John Westfall. In 1878 they came to Kansas, in 1883 the moved to Lawrence where the continued to reside until their death. To this union were born
