Veteran of World War II. First Lieutenant - United States Army Air Corps. Served with the 358th Bomber Squadron, 303rd Bomber Group-Heavy stationed at Molesworth, England. While on a mission to Nantes, France on June 10, 1944, his aircraft (Bam-Bam) piloted by Sam Oliver, crashed shortly after take off. The explosion in the aircraft "propelled him through the plexiglass nose causing over 40 rips in his gabardine flying suit and fairly serious cuts in his scalp and eyelid." Flew three additional missions after his release from the hospital. Died of Parkinson's Disease.
