Mr. Bearden died Tuesday, September 20 at L.S.U. Medical Center in Shreveport after a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Union Parish, member of Mt. Nebo Methodist Church, a retired carpenter and currently employed by the Holmesville Water System. He was preceded in death by his parents Eula and Doc Bearden and a brother, Roy Skains.
Survivors include his wife Christine Doster Bearden of Downsville; twos sons and daughters-in-law, John and Dana Bearden and Delane and Susie Bearden all of Downsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Donny Alford of Downsville; three brothers, Elhannon Bearden of Lake Charles, Lafayette Skains of Hodge, and Garland Bearden of Wilhite; five sisters, Pauline Taylor, Aline Baker, and Dorothy Brantley all of Downsville, Genell Meacham of Shreveport, and May Smith of Lawrenceville, Georgia; and ten grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bob Riser, Robert Aswell, James Cox, Richard Bridges, Richard Long, and Carl Taylor.
